I am delighted to inform you all that the San Francisco Host Committee for the Dance/USA Conference,this June has awarded a scholarship to Margherita Ryan.

This scholarship is made possible by a grant from the Kenneth Rainin Foundation and is just one of the many activities that the host committee is planning for the DUSA conference in San Francisco.

I am honored to be chosen as one of the few scholarship receipents for the 2012 Dance/USA conference. Thanks for your continued support and encouragement teaching dance as a respectable, athletic and artistic performing art form. Allowing me to assist in building physical, emotional strength with effective social skills and perseverance in AIM students.

2012 Preschool, school aged summer camps and preschool to adult dance classes will be offered at Art In Motion in Dublin, Ca. July will host our Petite dancer’s camps for ages 4-6 as well as our mini Musical theater camps for ages 7-14. Evening classes will be held for ages 6- adult. Art In Motion in Dublin to Perform at Art & Wind Festival in San Ramon

Art In Motion located in Dublin will be performing at the Art & Wind festival in San Ramon on Monday 5/28 at 12:30P. Our young performers group will perform several dances and theater numbers for this Tri Valley event. Art In Motion provides Dance, Pilates and Theater Arts classes to children, teens and adults in Dublin, Ca. Both recreational and pre- professional classes are available.

“The Wiz” the musical was a success!

Art In Motion is still a fairly new program for the performing arts located in Dublin, Ca. Yet, Art in Motion students and it’s director, Margie Ryan played significant roles in the producing and performing in the musical “The Wiz” at St Joan of Arc this past week. AIM dancers danced the role of the tornado and Margie was the director, choreographer, lighting designer, costume designer, and scenic designer for the production. The cast and crew were teens from the St Joan of Arc Light ministry. The production team were adult volunteers from this same community. This was St Joan of Arc’s 9th production and Margie’s 2nd musical production with the light ministry.

Art In Motion student accepted to Oakland School for the Arts ( charter performing arts high school)

Ale’ Andres a freshman at DVHS has been accepted into the Oakland High School for the Arts for Dance. Ale has been working with Ms. Margie since October in preparing to audition for the school for the arts to focus on dance. Ale decided to work with Art In Motion to gain strength, flexibility and a clear understanding of proper classical dance techique for Ballet, Jazz and Modern. Ale has worked diligently and consistently toward her goals. Reggie Savage is the director of the dance program and he is very selective in choicing his dancers. Ale is very excited to have the privilege and honor to be chosen into his dance program. Ale also have been selected with 9 other hip hop dancers to audition for “America’s Got Talent”. Congratulations to Ale!!!!!

Art In Motion’s 2012 Spring Break Musical Theater Camp in Dublin, Ca (Tues – Thurs 4/10-4/12) 9A-2P

Students will learn singing, dancing and acting for a short musical. Presentation of the musical will occur Thurs 1P-2P. All students will have an opportunity to act, have lines, sing solo or in a group and dance. Mock audition will occur for learning purposes only. The roles will be assigned based on director decision with each student’s comfort level and skills in mind.

Tahoma Rainer Summit High School dance intersession with Miss Margie

This past January for 5 days a week for 4 weeks, the high school students at Tahoma-Rainer High school in East San Jose worked with Art In Motion’s Miss Margie to learn dance for musical theater. They endured and flourished in 45 mins of matwork Pilates a day to gain strength, coordination and stamina to learn dance for musical theater. They were graded and tested for skills, knowledge and participation. All did a wonderful job and performed dances choreographed by students with the assistance of Miss Margie. Lots of hard physical, mental and emotional work was done and their work was rewarded with wonderful reviews and great applause from the audience during the last day exhibition.

Mulan performance Feb 22,23,24 in Layfayette

Miss Margie, director and instructor for Art In Motion was choreographer for the musical “Mulan” in a private school in Layfayette. The performances are next week Feb 22,23 and 24th. All the children have done a wonderful job learning their parts, songs and dances. Even though they are young, they were willing to be uncomfortable and work hard. They accomplished alot and will have a great show to remember for always. I am proud of their work to learn the production numbers that featured more difficult dance skills than is usual for a young performers production. Great Job was done by all!!! It was my pleasure to work again with Amber Dyson the director and wonderful colleague.

Art In Motion in Dublin, Ca to dance in the SJOA production of “the Wiz”

AIM (Art In Motion) dancers: Tiffany Juarez, Kassidy Folk, Naveli Garg, Faith Cummings and Jenna Bowie are to dance as the tornado in the musical “The Wiz” this coming March in 6 shows along side a very talented group of teens in the SJOA production. All the performers are excited and the Art In Motion dancers are working hard to improve their turning and jumping skills to portray Miss Margie’s interpretation of the tornado who sweeps innocent Dorothy away from Kansas to Munchkinland.
