On Friday 12/16, the AIM students performed at the Stoneridge Mall. They all performed wonderfully. We developed a large crowd of spectators who all enjoyed the program. The students performed a holiday tap number, Modern Horton and floor based modern number, Hip Hop and Musical theater number as well. They sang “We wish You a Merry Christmas” for the finale with some personalized lyrics that went over well!!! Great Job !! Melanie – the mall marketing manger has already invited us back to perform next year for the Holidays!!!

Art In Motion’s Musical Theater / Dance 2011-2012 News
Miss Margie , Art In Motion has been selected to choreograph the musical, Mulan in a private school in Lafayette, Ca. Working along side Amber Dyson as director and musical director.
Miss Margie will also be working on The Wiz with SJOA Light ministry along side Keith Cosby as musical director and Bob Cummings as Producer.
Miss Margie has been asked to continue to direct and instruct in 2012 for the City of San Ramon Drama afterschool programs at Walt Disney, Twin Creeks and Quail Run Elementary schools in San Ramon.
Lastly, In the month of January 2012 Miss Margie will be working with the students at the Summit Charter High School in East San Jose - Tahoma Rainier ( featured in the movie “Waiting for Super Man”) on Musical Theater for their intersession (students spend 4 weeks during normal school hours working creatively outside their normal curriculum with teaching artists) … FYI about this new chart school program…. Billionaire Meg Whitman bestowed $2.5 million on South Bay and Peninsula charter school programs. The donation will go to Summit Public Schools. If the charter school’s name rings a bell, that’s because its first school in Redwood City was glamorously featured in the fire-alarm documentary Waiting for Superman. Whitman’s known for being a big fan of the film, which focuses on how the public education system is failing future generations.
Miss Margie has been asked to assistant direct and choreograph a new musical drama ”La Llorona” composed by Hector Armienta which is currently running in NYC.

Past Student News: Cara McKeown- Intern at Tom Hanks new Movie Company – past dance student
Cara was an excellent student with alot of talent and unfortunately great loss and misfortune in her life early on but she held on to dance to help her gain her sense of well being – she recently contacted me via facebook and left the best message a coach/teacher could ever get. She is an intern at Tom Hanks movie company in Santa Monica after graduating from Emerson College with a major in film. She wrote “I really want to thank you for being one of the greatest, most inspiring teachers I ever had. Now that I am older, I can truly appreciate everything you taught me, some of which I didn’t understand back when I was seventeen… Often times when I’m faced with a problem or challenging situation, I’ll use what you taught me to get through it. Because you taught us so much more than just dance techniques, and that’s what makes you stand out above all of my other teachers. You taught us perseverance, how to work hard, and the importance of believing you can truly achieve something if you set your mind to it. Seriously, you are an amazing teacher.
I’d LOVE to hear about all you are doing! Let’s do some catch-up e-mails!
Sure do miss you!”
- Cara
What she didn’t mention was that it was she who was so extraordinary - that it was in her all the time!!!!!
Congratulations to Tiff, Sammy, Naveli and Kassidy
